Minor Entertainment was created in 2009 to make spectacular family theatre events. Our first production, In the Night Garden Live (nightgardenlive.com), has toured the UK in its own inflatable theatre for eight consecutive summers and has been seen by over 900,000 people.
Job Details
2018 is an exciting year for us, as well as the development of Family Tickets and In the Night Garden Live the same creative team will also be developing a brand new show, Bing Live! (bingliveshow.com), to tour the UK.
We need an experienced, hard-working and reliable production coordinator to support us through the preproduction and opening periods of both shows. ItNGL opens at The O2 on 24 May and Bing Live opens in St Albans on 20 June.
You will enjoy doing multiple tasks at once, be comfortable as part of a team, manage your time well, be a good problem solver and extremely well organised

Job Description
Production Support
- You’ll work with the production manager and executive producer to carry out the refurb of ItNGL before we open at The O2.
- You’ll work with the production manager and executive producer on tendering and purchasing for Bing Live.
- You’ll help with the organisation of events and rehearsals.
- You’ll do research, obtain quotes from suppliers and contractors and negotiate prices.
- You’ll source and purchase items as needed by the production manager for both productions.
- You’ll monitor preproduction spending with the executive producer.
- You’ll coordinate logistical activities for ItNGL such as organising AA signage and other site operational areas.
- You’ll help formulate operational and reporting procedures for the touring ItNGL security team and oversee SIA licence applications.
- You’ll support the tour booking for both productions, including keeping the tour master document up to date, analysing pricing of similar productions and suggesting pricing for both productions.
- You’ll coordinate fittings and physio assessments for the productions.
- You’ll carry out other tasks as reasonably required by the executive producer to support the production of both shows.
Reruitment
- You’ll recruit casual stage crew and dressers for ItNGL.
- You’ll assist with the recruitment of a Site Maintenance Technician and Site Manager for ItNGL.
- You’ll assist with the recruitment of a Merchandise Manager and Merchandise Assistant Manager for Bing Live.
- You’ll work with the Audience Services Manager on FOH staff recruitment for ItNGL, arranging interviews, collecting information for new starters and payroll.
Administration
- You’ll contribute to the smooth running of our productions by providing admin support to the team, including the Executive Producer and Production Managers.
- You’ll write purchase orders and ensure invoices are provided.
- You’ll assist the executive producer in preparing contracts for touring staff.
- You’ll book couriers and arrange transport for the productions.
- You’ll make sure we keep records up to date for tour venues so that contract and settlement information is easy to find and efficiently processed.
- You’ll look after hotel bookings for the productions ensuring that contractual deadlines are met and spend is minimised where possible.
- You’ll help prepare health & safety and operational paperwork for ItNGL.
- You’ll support the preparation and submission of premises licence applications for ItNGL.
- You’ll prepare the weekly payroll for touring staff for sign-off by the executive producer.
- You’ll carry out other ad hoc administrative tasks as required.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Experience in an administrative and coordinating role in a theatre production or live entertainment environment.
- Experience of researching, analysing and presenting material clearly and concisely in a range of formats.
- Highly literate and numerate.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office software packages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experienced in working with colleagues at all levels of seniority
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and able to work on your own initiative.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, and able to maintain quality when working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- A flexible approach to working and a good team player.
Desirable
- Some experience of recruitment would be beneficial.
- Experience of negotiation on price and deal terms.
- Some familiarity with contract preparation (though not formulating / creating).
Terms and Conditions
Salary: £500 per week (equivalent to £26,000pa)
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 6:00pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Occasionally some evening and weekend work may be required.
Location: You’ll be based at our office in London Bridge, although you might occasionally be required to work at different locations.
Start date: Immediate start, ideally week commencing 19 March 2018
Finish date: Fixed term contract finishes on Friday 27 July 2018
